Old stone walls, coffered ceilings in the kitchen, and a spacious loft area with different levels—this country house near Leipzig clearly bears the marks of its history, yet it has been completely reimagined over many years. The result is a home that works year-round: bonfires in the garden in the summer, evenings by the fireplace in the winter.
Inside, new furniture, old elements, and heirlooms come together to create an interior that tells stories. The kitchen, with its vaulted ceilings, offers plenty of space for cooking together. Quieter corners of the house give you room to yourself when you need a break from being together.
The garden has evolved over many years from various ideas and travel inspirations and has a touch of that Mediterranean summer vibe. In the summer, the pool is ready for use, along with a sun deck, a fire pit, and a play area for children. A carport with charging stations for two electric cars is available.
The area around Ottenhain is diverse: Rochlitzer Berg is perfect for walks with sweeping views, and Kohren-Sahlis features a historic potter’s fountain and a sensory maze. Lake Markkleeberg offers beaches and walking trails. Both Leipzig and Dresden are easily accessible for a day trip.
