About this house
Listening to birdsong, the sound of the waves and the rustle of the wind in the treetops gives you absolute peace and quiet. Brüel's house is one of the first A-houses with the finest thatched roof. It was built in 1918 by architect and master carpenter Rasmus Brüel, who also used the cottage with his family for a number of years. His signature was ingenious constructions and functional solutions, and the A-house from 1918 demonstrates a sure architectural grip. The cottage has been designated as worthy of preservation and is furnished with respect for history. The living room's varnished and wide floorboards and the brown beams throughout have set the direction for the furnishings of the house, which predominantly play on the dark shades. The atmosphere and decor give you a sense of calm, coziness and it's a bit like being in a hunting lodge. The heart and focal point of the house is the large living room and kitchen in one. In the center of the living room is an old English fireplace (with a wood-burning stove), and the kitchen is decorated with large windows with lots of light and views of the lake and meadow. The fine A-house offers plenty of sleeping space. On the ground floor there is a guest room and on the first floor there is a large master bedroom with a view of the sea at one end. At the other end of the house, there are two en suite bedrooms with single beds and a direct view into the forest, which starts a few meters from the front of the house. The three terraces invite you to socialize at different times of the day - on the first lovely terrace you can enjoy your morning coffee with peace of mind and the sun's morning red rays on your face. On the large south-facing terrace, you can lounge and dine in the sun from morning to evening, sunbathing and relaxing. The last terrace is covered and faces the forest. Around the house there is also a lovely natural garden with a small patch of grass. In the middle of this nature-rich area, many different animal species come and go: owls, deer, foxes and pheasants regularly stop by, and if you make sure the bird bath has fresh water every day, you can experience the richest bird life in the middle of the garden.
