About this house
In a half-timbered house in Schweina that's about 300 years old, you'll find a holiday let where historic materials meet a contemporary, unique design. Original wooden doors, warm wooden floors, and carefully selected furniture give the flat its very own character.
The deep purple of the sofa creates a striking contrast to the historic elements. A particular eye-catcher in the entryway is the green plain-end tiles from the old roof of Altenstein Castle—a piece of regional history that's found a new home here. We've carefully chosen every detail.
A sunny loggia is available for all guests to enjoy together. It's the perfect spot for your first cup of coffee in the morning or a relaxing glass of wine in the evening. Altenstein Castle and Park are nearby and invite you to take walks through the expansive landscape park. High above Eisenach, Wartburg Castle towers with its impressive architecture and views over the Thuringian Forest.
The Rennsteig, the approximately 169-kilometre-long high-altitude hiking trail through the Thuringian Forest, is just a short drive away. In Meiningen, you can explore the historic State Theatre and the historic old town.
