About this house
This architect-designed wooden house from 1985 won a competition for a Norwegian model home intended to blend seamlessly with the landscape. It opens up at both gables, offering views to the east, while the sides remain low. Thanks to the covered sections at the gables, the relationship between the exterior and interior's a central part of the experience.
The house is consistently simple and Japanese-inspired, without any unnecessary additions. The kitchen and bathroom have been remodelled, but the original structures have been preserved. You can move freely between the rooms and feel how this beautiful wooden house maintains a clean line from floor to ceiling.
The wild garden largely takes care of itself and offers a wonderful feeling of being in the midst of nature. The large terrace's the perfect spot for outdoor relaxation, sheltered by the covered gables. The entire area offers opportunities for walking and cycling in scenic surroundings. The beach's just a few hundred metres from the house. Mols Bjerge National Park's a few kilometres away, and a trip to Ebeltoft's also highly recommended.
