Enchanting thatched summer house in Nationalpark Thy

About this house

The beautiful thatched cottage is completely secluded in a forest on a planted field. The dune landscape and forest are the closest neighbors. The cottage was renovated and rebuilt 14 years ago and is now clad in black wood shavings and thatched.

Inside, the house has been completely rebuilt with respect for the cottage's identity. All walls and doors are clad in Douglas fir, giving the rooms a warm glow, natural color and a Scandinavian feel. The lovely living room has a fireplace under a beautiful arched ceiling and an open connection to the bright and cozy kitchen. The living room has wireless internet and the option to connect your computer to the TV so you can enjoy a windy evening with a good movie. The kitchen is furnished with everything you need to create a great dinner, which can be enjoyed at the fine dining table. On the ground floor there are also two bedrooms with a total of three beds. All rooms on the ground floor have access to the lovely terraces.

Under the arched ceiling on the first floor is a bedroom with a double bed and an alcove under a dormer with another sleeping space. Opposite the sleeping alcove is a similar niche that is used to store bed linen.

The cottage is surrounded on all sides by terraces with sheltered, planted stone walls. In the middle of the plot, under the tall birch and oak trees, there is a large fire pit surrounded by a sheltered wall and benches. The trees on the site have been pruned to provide long views while providing intimate and sheltered seating.

In the front garden, the construction of an outbuilding covered with black wood shavings and grass on the roof is ongoing. In this outbuilding you can find the two bicycles that can be borrowed to explore the beautiful Thy National Park with all its character and opportunities.
