About this house
Nestled among Scots pines and olive trees, this treehouse is part of a small village built between 1600 and 1800 on the hill of Sant’Alessandro in Giogoli. Just a few minutes from the historic centre, it's a base for exploring Florence without sacrificing the tranquillity of the Tuscan countryside.
The bedroom's a simple, intimate space with a large chalkboard where you can leave messages. The small, fully equipped kitchen invites you to slow down. In the colder months, the glass walls capture the sun’s warmth, and the stove keeps you cosy after sunset. In the summer, the large windows let in a refreshing breeze. The terrace wraps around the entire house, and in the morning you can enjoy breakfast with pastries fresh from the neighbourhood bakery. The garden and the pool complete the outdoor spaces, while farmyard animals live among the olive and pine trees. For sports enthusiasts, the synthetic-turf tennis court offers a place to have fun and stay active outdoors, nestled in the olive grove, where the sound of tennis balls blends with the chirping of cicadas. The vegetable garden and our farm animals form a living, nurturing ecosystem designed to be a small, self-sufficient farm that follows the rhythm of the seasons, taking the time to provide us with the fruits of the earth.
In addition, surrounding the treehouse—within the complex that houses it—there are countless other apartments and a beautiful letterpress workshop where you can sign up for individual or group workshops tailored to your specific needs.
Nearby, you’ll find the Certosa del Galluzzo, a 14th-century monastery, and Villa i Collazzi, whose rooftop terrace is attributed to Michelangelo. You can also explore medieval villages, museums, and trattorias in the vicinity of Florence.
