About this house

Welcome to a charming wooden house where nature and coziness go hand in hand. Here you can experience an authentic vacation home with a distinctive character, where wood paneling both inside and out creates a warm atmosphere, and where the windows invite nature inside.

The home’s interior features a cozy kitchen connected to the living room, where a wood-burning stove spreads warmth on chilly days. Here, you’ll truly experience the simple and authentic cottage life. The kitchen has been intentionally kept simple, with small, creative solutions instead of a traditional stove. Here you’ll find two induction burners, one gas burner, a mini-oven, and an air fryer for indoor meals, and if you step out onto the large wooden terrace, a gas grill awaits for your vacation meals under the open sky.

The house retains its original, older style with a soulful atmosphere reminiscent of a classic allotment cottage. Here, the focus is fully on the experience and less on modern luxury. In keeping with the house’s age, the bathroom is very small and functional, with the shower and toilet sharing just a few square meters. The hot water tank holds enough water for a couple of quick rinses at a time, before you might head out to the outdoor shower in the garden. Overall, the house is a sanctuary with quirky, old-fashioned solutions that invite you to unplug from everyday conveniences and simply enjoy nature.

The large wooden terrace is the house’s natural gathering spot, featuring a dining table, gas grill, and plenty of space to enjoy the long summer days. Here you’ll also find a cozy clay oven to keep you warm on summer evenings. The garden has been intentionally left wild, with mowed paths leading you between the berry bushes and to the atmospheric fire pit.

As a special treat, Florahus also has a wood-fired wilderness bath, which can be used for an additional fee. The wilderness bath is located on the terrace, where you can lean back in the warm water and enjoy the view of the sky above the garden. On clear evenings, you can see the stars, the moon, and—on the darkest nights—the Milky Way with the naked eye. The bath is equipped with massage jets, bubbles, and atmospheric underwater lighting, making the experience extra cozy year-round. It can accommodate up to six people, but it’s just as lovely for two.

If you wish to use the wilderness bath during your stay, it costs an additional 750 DKK per stay. The price covers water and firewood consumption for the bath. If you wish to use the wilderness bath, this must be arranged directly with me as the landlord. Simply send a message well in advance of your arrival. The additional payment is settled directly with me (see agreement at Landfolk).

From the house, it’s a short walk to the bathing jetty at Sejerø Bay, where you can enjoy the sun on the green area. Explore the nearby butterfly forest, visit Kalundborg’s charming town center with its local brewery, or discover Røsnæs’ beautiful nature and hiking trails.
