On the banks of the Mandalselven river lies Lille-Strædet, an authentic lord's cottage from the early 1900s, where Lord Hamilton himself spent his summers hunting salmon. Here, the buzz of history and the tranquillity of nature meet in perfect harmony, without neighbors or disturbances from the outside world.

The interior is a timeless journey back in time, with original crockery and furniture from Lord Hamilton's time creating a unique atmosphere. Modern comforts such as electricity and hot water are discreetly integrated, while the absence of TV, WiFi and microwave invites for a more authentic experience. The coffee beans can be ground in the old coffee grinder, boiled on the stove or prepared in a press pot or espresso pot. Firewood has to be carried, and both the oven and the hearth are fired up for warmth and comfort. This is how to fill your vacation days with meaningful and down-to-earth chores.

The spacious terrace offers panoramic views of the meadow and river, surrounded by majestic oak trees that cast long shadows in the sunset. Here you can observe deer, moose and beaver in their natural habitat, while birds of prey circle over the valley.

From the cabin, it's a short distance to Adventure Norway with river rafting and via ferrata, or you can explore the area's many hiking trails and shelters. Kristiansand and Mandal's beaches are 40 minutes away, while Dyreparken is a 50-minute drive from the property.
